Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng has been the place I enjoyed most on this trip so far. The number of pictures of a place must be inversely proportional to ho much I enjoyed it because I've only a couple of pictures from Vang Vieng.

Given the unflattering nature of this particular photo, I was going to delete it. However, if one can look beyond my drunken state and see the beers on teh table, one would see the number one tasting beer in South-East Asia (possibly the world) i.e. Beer Lao. It's the only beer available in Laos but that doesn't matter because you wouldn't want any others. Mighty stuff.

While in Vang Vieng, I took a one day tour of the caves around the town. This is the entrance to one of them. We floated into the caves on tyre tubes, pulling ourselves in using the rope shown. I reckon we must've gone in around 500 metres into the cave.
